SDRN seminar- ‘Sustainable Development in the National Planning Policy Framework’

By Bridget Elliott on 13th May 2014
Date and Time:
Tuesday, June 10, 2014 - 17:30 to 20:30

We are pleased to announce that SDRN will host an evening seminar on the 10th June which will explore how sustainable development is being addressed through the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF). At the heart of the NPPF is the ‘presumption in favour of sustainable development’. What does this mean and how is it being implemented in practice? What are the challenges to delivering sustainable development through the NPPF and what research and evidence gaps need to be addressed? The seminar will take place in London at the Town and Country Planning Association (Carlton House Terrace). The Department for Communities and Local Government's Chief Planner, Steve Quartermain, will provide a scene-setting presentation, followed by brief responses from different sectors to stimulate panel and audience discussion. The seminar will be followed by informal networking and refreshments. The first 25 places will be available to SDRN members on a first-come, first-served basis, after which a waiting list will apply to enable us to balance participation across different sectors. To register for this event, please complete the Eventbrite registration form. More…
