The Sustainable Development Research Network (SDRN) Annual Conference 2012 took place on 29th November at the UK Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) Conference Centre in London.

Presentations and discussions centred around themes including: the changing landscape of sustainable development policy and research; reconciling growth and sustainable development; wellbeing, natural capital and prosperity; 'What Works?' - understanding how best to evaluate and learn from policy interventions; and the role of cities compared to states in delivering sustainable development.

Speakers included Parliamentary Under-Secretary for Resource Management, the Local Environment and Environmental Science, Lord de Mauley; Chief Executive of Ipsos Mori, Ben Page; Prof Judith Petts, University of Southampton; Prof Fred Steward, Policy Studies Institute; David Fell, Brook Lyndhurst; Rowland Hill, Marks and Spencer; Dimitri Zenghelis, Grantham Research Institute & Cisco Climate Change Practice; Sandy Taylor, Birmingham City Council; Prof Harriet Bulkeley, University of Durham; Mark Watts, Arup; Dr Rory Sullivan, University of Leeds; Susan Purdon, BPSR; Siobhan Campbell, DECC; Jane Davidson, University of Wales, Trinity Saint David; Jan Bebbington, St Andrew's Sustainability Institute; and Stephen Hicks, Office for National Statistics.
